Whiskey Wednesday Roundtable No. 18

This post seems very insignificant when compared to the news of the bombings at the end of the Boston Marathon earlier this week. However, we cannot let the individuals responsible for that atrocity stop us from carrying on as normal. As the old English poster reads: “Keep calm and carry on!”

1. Whiskey Wednesday Review
Our featured review this week was written by our newest writer here at WhiskeyNose.com. Take a look at Knob Creek Straight Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey.

2. Interesting whiskey related news story this week
The big whisky news this week was that South African conglomerate, Distell Group, Ltd., purchased Scotch producer Burn Stewart Distillers, Ltd for a sum up to $244 million.

3. Favorite whiskey related product of the week
Several companies have started using used whiskey and wine barrels for furniture, music instruments, and more. Of the these companies that really stands out is the Katy Barrel Company. The product we’re featuring is the Coffee Table with storage. Rustic yet elegant.

4. Recipe of the week
Chocolate Chip Whisky Muffins. Yes, yes, and yes.

5. Random coolness
We love music, especially Irish rock / punk or anything that sounds similar. Enter Skinny Lister’s Forge & Flagon. Quite possibly the best music since Flogging Molly’s Swagger album. If you don’t have any idea what that means…check it out!
